PROFILE
I was born in Guadaloupe where I studied for my Baccalaureate and Law Degree (in commercial law for small companies). I am interested in the import/export sector and worked from 1999-2003 with a local company importing food, alcohol, cosmetics etc for local supermarkets and in neighbouring countries. The role afforded variety of duties including visiting clients to discuss product ranges, liaising with the warehouse for delivery, ordering stock from France when needed.. I was trained in Letters of Credit there and regularly received and checked these, together with Bills of Lading etc. As I wished to improve my English I came to the UK and completed a course of English study. My first role in the UK was in the Business Centre at the Hilton providing business services to guests at their conferences, all in English, working on a part time basis. This was followed by my current position with Star Shipping to give me exposure to the international trading/ shipping sector within the UK. Having built up a good basis of UK experience I would like to move into a permanent role affording me the opportunity to build on my skills.
